Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday to Friday; 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM with rotating weekends.

Department: Microbiology

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the suitability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Execute routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit the capability to make informed technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls as needed.
  • Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and restock testing bench supplies as required.
  • Assist with specimen processing when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science or laboratory science/Medical Technology.
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory is preferred.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime or other shifts based on business requirements.
