Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday to Friday; 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM with rotating weekends.
Department: Microbiology
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the suitability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
- Execute routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Exhibit the capability to make informed technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls as needed.
- Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
- Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and restock testing bench supplies as required.
- Assist with specimen processing when necessary.
- Maintain a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science or laboratory science/Medical Technology.
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory is preferred.
- ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must successfully pass a standardized color vision screening.
- Willingness to work overtime or other shifts based on business requirements.
