Position Overview:
The Senior Controls Engineer plays a crucial role within our engineering teams, focusing on the design and execution of control strategies and subsystem specifications for advanced vehicle control systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and verifying control strategies for various vehicle types, including engine, hybrid, and electric models.
  • Working on components such as electronic control modules, motors, drives, and sensors.
  • Engaging in research, development, verification, and validation of vehicle subsystem controls.
  • Collaborating with software engineering and other internal teams, as well as external suppliers.


Your Contributions:
Under guidance, you will perform essential engineering calculations and tasks, ensuring compliance with Oshkosh and industry standards. You will assist senior engineers in creating plans, designs, and reports, and may oversee smaller projects or subsystems.

Additionally, you will:

  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Support the development of project requirements, including resources and test plans.
  • Utilize simulation tools for control strategy development and assist in transitioning strategies to vehicle testing.
  • Collaborate with project teams on advanced control and component development initiatives.


Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, along with three or more years of relevant experience, is required. A Master's degree with one year of experience is also acceptable.


Preferred Skills:
Experience in automotive or heavy-duty vehicle control systems, familiarity with CAN bus architecture, and proficiency in tools such as Mathworks, dSPACE, or Vector tools are advantageous. Knowledge of embedded software development in languages like C/C++/C# or Python is a plus.

Strong communication skills, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving capabilities are essential. You will frequently interact with peers and external contacts, requiring effective information exchange and analysis.


Working Conditions:
