Role Overview:
The Cannabis Retail Specialist, reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, is responsible for supporting all daily activities within the dispensary, being part of a patient-focused team, and achieving company objectives.
This role also involves upholding iAnthus policies and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to policies and procedures while managing daily operations
- Engage with and educate patients positively
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient intake forms
- Assist in qualifying patients for financial assistance programs
- Maintain compliance with local and state regulations
- Perform general administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication
- Provide timely feedback to management regarding patient experiences
- Maintain accurate records, including patient intake forms and cash handling logs
- Participate in brief meetings at the start of each shift to align on goals
- Deliver compassionate and excellent patient service consistently
- Participate in monthly inventory reviews
Training and Development:
- Ensure every patient is greeted with a friendly and compassionate attitude
- Maintain proficiency in HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Be knowledgeable about inventory management and point-of-sale systems
- Stay updated on product knowledge and appropriate dosages
- Ensure all team members adhere to current policies and regulations
- Review and update educational materials for patients
- Engage in quarterly team meetings for continuous improvement
Sales and Business Development:
- Review daily sales and best practices with team members to meet goals
- Participate in brief meetings to ensure consistent messaging
- Provide exceptional and compassionate patient services

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license
- Preferred experience in retail, hospitality, or patient services
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic math skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-transaction environment
- Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities
- Computer literacy is essential; POS experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check as per state guidelines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day with rotating shifts
- Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel throughout the workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to use a ladder and basic tools for minor repairs
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions
The compensation for this position is $17 per hour, plus cash tips.
Management reserves the right to assign additional duties as necessary.
