Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Iowa 80 Truckstop INC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive prompt and courteous service, addressing their concerns and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
  • Perform Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any needed repairs or maintenance, documenting all findings and recommendations.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and repair a wide range of issues, including HVAC, starting and charging systems, brakes, engine cooling, exhaust, fuel systems, suspension, steering, after-treatment systems, air systems, and electrical systems.
  • Work Safely and Effectively: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, and working collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lube checks, coolant checks, fluid checks, battery checks, belt and hose checks, brake inspections, and DOT inspections.
  • Diagnose and Repair Complex Issues: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and repair complex issues, including HVAC, starting and charging systems, brakes, engine cooling, exhaust, fuel systems, suspension, steering, after-treatment systems, air systems, and electrical systems.
  • Work Well with Others: Collaborate with other team members to provide excellent customer service and promote a positive work environment.
  • Possess Essential Tools: Have access to the necessary tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks within our scope of service.
  • Desire to Learn and Grow: Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Reliable Transportation and Valid Driver's License: Possess reliable transportation to work and a valid driver's license.
  • Background Check and Physical: Pass a background check and physical examination, as well as random drug testing.
