Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Iowa 80 Truckstop INC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive prompt and courteous service, addressing their concerns and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lube checks, coolant checks, fluid checks, battery checks, belt and hose checks, brake inspections, and DOT inspections.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and repair issues with HVAC, starting and charging systems, brakes, engine cooling, exhaust, fuel systems, suspension, steering, after-treatment systems, air systems, and electrical systems.
  • Work Collaboratively: Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, promoting a positive work environment and excellent customer service.
  • Meet Safety Standards: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Possess the necessary technical skills and knowledge to perform routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Tools and Equipment: Possess the necessary tools and equipment to perform repairs within our scope of service.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
  • Reliability and Flexibility: Be reliable and flexible, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Background Check: Pass a background check, physical, and random drug testing.
