About the Role

George Mason University is seeking a highly skilled Grants Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Sponsored Programs Administration team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and submission of grant proposals, as well as managing post-award activities for sponsored projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all aspects of proposal preparation and submission, ensuring compliance with federal, sponsor, and university guidelines.
  • Provide expertise on sponsor and university policies, as well as monitor the external regulatory environment related to sponsored funding.
  • Ensure sponsor requirements and deliverables are met, and maintain a portfolio of active proposals.
  • Manage post-award actions, including modifications, no-cost extensions, re-budgets, PI changes, and other post-award related actions.
  • Comply with all office pre-award procedures, and effectively utilize grants management systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or work experience.
  • Some experience working on sponsored awards in a university, nonprofit, or private sector setting, especially concentrated work in grants and contracts management.
  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and/or contract activity, of University policies and procedures relating to grant and contracts activity, and of University processes, systems and offices related to and/or involved in grant and contract submission and management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Federal, University, departmental and sponsor, policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Significant proven experience in grants and contracts management.
  • Experience in university sponsored programs administration or related field is preferred.
