Key Responsibilities

As an essential member of our clinical team, the Immunohematology Specialist will conduct various serological assessments on samples from a diverse patient demographic, often requiring transfusion support. This position includes a sign-on bonus of $3,500.

Primary duties include:

  • Analyzing patient and donor samples for consultation purposes.
  • Executing basic to intermediate immunohematology procedures.
  • Communicating findings to relevant personnel, including interim reports as necessary.
  • Overseeing the inventory and distribution of antigen-negative blood products.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data in both computerized systems and manual formats, generating reports as needed.
  • Advising internal and external stakeholders on various immunohematology-related matters.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Immunohematology, or a related discipline.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license is mandatory.
  • Must fulfill New York State Department of Education licensing criteria for Clinical Lab Technologists.
  • Up to one year of relevant laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.

Compensation for this role varies based on experience and location, with a proposed hourly rate ranging from $48.71 to $68.20 for positions within specific areas.
