Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician Lead to join our team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates, infants, and the elderly. In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for specimen processing and receiving, patient registration, and daily lead responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates, infants, and the elderly.
  • Process and receive specimens in the laboratory.
  • Register patients and specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Assume daily lead responsibilities, including handling patient flow and resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience with all age groups.
  • Phlebotomy certification with a national agency recognized by AHCA.
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in patient registration.
  • One (1) year experience with Sarasota Memorial Hospital in a primary role.
  • Demonstrated positive customer service and good judgment when interacting with patients, the public, and other staff members.
  • Ability to demonstrate an amiable personality and a willing and cooperative attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use and understand vocabulary with some knowledge of medical terminology.

Mandatory Education:

High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate

Valid Driver's License
