Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technician/Healthcare Laboratory Scientist, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting moderate to high complexity laboratory tests and analyses
- Ensuring the integrity of specimens through proper handling and processing
- Adhering to departmental protocols, quality control, and safety standards
- Performing biological specimen preparation and processing
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Participating in quality control procedures and documentation
- Collaborating with team members and leadership to maintain laboratory standards
- Engaging in laboratory maintenance activities, including inventory management and waste disposal
- Other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements: This role requires extensive computer use and may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as well as repetitive motions.
Safety Considerations: The position involves some risk of exposure to hazardous materials and requires compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certification in medical laboratory science (ASCP or equivalent)
- Active license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science preferred; Associate Degree accepted
- Knowledge of microbiological techniques is advantageous
- A patient-centered approach to healthcare
