Job Title: Residential Youth Counselor

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is a leading provider of culturally responsive services that cultivate mental and physical resilience and wellness. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Youth Counselor to join our team at New Yosemite, a four-bed short-term crisis stabilization program for youth on the autism spectrum.

Job Summary:

The Residential Youth Counselor is responsible for providing high-quality care and counseling to at-risk teens with special needs in a residential treatment program. This role requires a strong commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, staff, and site, while implementing treatment and behavior plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day care and counseling to residents, including crisis intervention, behavior stabilization, and assessment.
  • Implement treatment and behavior plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Dispense medications as needed and assist residents with their health and wellness.
  • Help residents manage their schedules and attend outside appointments or activities.
  • Build relationships with residents and their families in a supportive environment that utilizes a strengths-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach.
Requirements:
  • B.A. in Arts or Science (preferred) or High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience.
  • Valid Child Development Teaching Permit or completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Education.
  • At least 100 hours of experience working with youth or relevant vocational training.
