Job Title: Residential Youth Counselor - New Yosemite

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is a leading provider of mental health services for youth and families. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Youth Counselor to join our team at New Yosemite, a four-bed short-term crisis stabilization program for youth on the autism spectrum.

Job Summary:

The Residential Youth Counselor is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to at-risk teens with special needs in a residential treatment program. This includes implementing treatment plans, providing counseling and guidance, and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling to residents, focusing on behavioral stabilization and skill development
  • Implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including crisis intervention and behavior stabilization
  • Dispense medications as needed and assist residents with health and wellness activities
  • Build relationships with residents and their families, utilizing a strengths-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive treatment plans
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A B.A. in Arts/Science or a related field (preferred) or a High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience and certifications
  • Valid Child Development Teaching Permit or equivalent experience and training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
Benefits:

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services offers a competitive salary range of $21.37 to $27.88 per hour, depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including 21 PTO days per year, 9 nationally observed holidays, 401k matching up to 6%, and a $150 monthly stipend for various use.
