Your Opportunity + Impact

The Senior Geotechnical Consultant serves as a technical authority and is required to hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license along with relevant work experience.

This role operates independently, capable of executing most technical tasks with minimal oversight, while also managing project budgets.

The Geotechnical Consultant will oversee design activities, engage with clients, and take on additional Quality Assurance and Quality Control responsibilities to ensure that the final deliverables meet the technical standards and objectives of the client.

The Geotechnical Consultant will collaborate closely with our current team to finalize ongoing projects and broaden the service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct independent planning and design activities, review the work of colleagues, prepare design documentation and reports, and ensure successful project completion.

- Possess experience with technically intricate projects.

- Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards for project design.

- Foster collaborative relationships across departments and with project team members.

- Execute final QA/QC reviews of project submissions.

- Develop schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.

- Work closely with clients and project teams to clearly articulate and deliver the scope of work.

- Perform fieldwork, sample collection, and laboratory coordination as necessary.

- Supervise field and junior staff on larger projects as directed.

- Advocate for and implement quality assurance and quality control processes to enhance deliverable quality and minimize design errors and omissions.

- Conduct and verify design calculations, technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.

- Execute calculations such as stability analysis, bearing capacity, settlement, pile/drilled shaft capacity, micro-pile design, soil nail design, etc., with minimal supervision.

- Develop and maintain design budgets for routine scopes of work.

Education and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution, with a strong preference for Geotechnical concentration.

Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.

Licensure/Certification:
Professional Engineer (PE) license required. PA license preferred or ability to obtain.
Must possess the capability to swiftly review, comprehend, and resolve complex design and construction-related challenges.

Proficiency in software such as Slide, LPILE, GRLWEAP, SNAIL, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/InRoads, and other relevant programs for geotechnical design is preferred.
