Job Summary

Ascension is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Counselor to provide high-quality care to our patients. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing behavioral health counseling services, conducting patient assessments, and establishing therapy treatment goals. You will also administer individual and group therapy, maintain thorough and confidential records of observations, and evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions. Additionally, you will provide patients with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community and work directly with patients, family, physicians, and community providers to ensure active and collaborative care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health counseling services to patients

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals

• Administer individual and group therapy

• Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations

• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions

• Provide patients with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community

• Work directly with patients, family, physicians, and community providers to ensure active and collaborative care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or Psychology required
