Key Responsibilities:

Radiologic technologists are required to adhere strictly to physicians' directives and comply with safety regulations regarding radiation to safeguard themselves, their patients, and their colleagues from unnecessary exposure. Assist patients in transferring to the imaging equipment or examination table, ensuring proper immobilization for accurate radiologic assessments. Confirm patient identification on imaging studies and route them to the PACS system. Relay necessary information to Virtual Radiologic as needed. Organize demographic data in the reading room for interpretation purposes. Maintain a daily record of patients examined. Operate radiologic or fluoroscopy (c-arm) machinery to achieve diagnostic-quality images. Gather essential information from patients, medical records, and prior scans for clinical correlation. Monitor patient responses to treatments and any changes in physical or mental condition, reporting significant changes to the appropriate personnel. Prepare and assist patients for imaging procedures as directed by a physician. Deliver patient care with dignity and respect, educating them about the procedures being performed. Ensure optimal image quality through proper anatomical positioning and adherence to established protocols set by radiologists. Follow safety protocols, including radiation protection and universal precautions. Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the appropriate personnel for corrective action. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and show flexibility in job assignments. Uphold a commitment to total quality management and service excellence, aligning actions with the organizational mission at all times. Stay informed about advancements in technology and safety measures for oneself, patients, and visitors. Process imaging studies onto CD or film format for patient requests while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain cleanliness of imaging equipment and work areas. Practice sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Familiarize oneself with the location of emergency medications and equipment. Stay knowledgeable about the department's booking, scheduling, duplication, and PACS systems. Enhance professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training and continuing education requirements. Possess a strong understanding of human anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy, along with proper positioning skills and appropriate imaging techniques. Demonstrate expertise in a variety of routine procedures and applications. Maintain the necessary continuing education credits and professional licenses as mandated by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Protection, and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Adhere to and promote company policies, rules, and regulations. Perform related duties as necessary or assigned. Candidates will receive cross-training upon hire to perform any applicable modalities to meet departmental needs.

Required Qualifications:

Valid New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification. Commitment to maintaining superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with standardized procedures. Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy, along with proper positioning and imaging protocols. Proficient in a variety of routine procedures and applications. Ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses as required by relevant health departments and registries.
