About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Summit Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating radiologic and fluoroscopy equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate radiologic and fluoroscopy equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images
  • Assist patients with transferring to the detector or exam table and ensuring proper patient immobilization
  • Verify patient identification and route studies to PACS
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen and prepare and assist patients for radiologic procedures as requested by physicians
  • Monitor patient reaction to treatment and changes in physical or mental status, reporting changes to the appropriate person
  • Observe and follow safety procedures, including radiation protection and universal precautions
  • Carry out quality control checks on equipment and report deficiencies to proper personnel
  • Work independently and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments
  • Maintain familiarity with changes regarding technology and safety for self, patients, and visitors
  • Process studies onto CD or film format for patient study requests while maintaining proper HIPAA compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working area
  • Practice sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination
  • Maintain familiarity with the departments' booking, scheduling, duplication, and PACS systems
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training and fulfillment of continuing education requirements

Requirements

  • New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification
  • Maintaining superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with standardized procedures
  • Excellent patient and people skills
  • Ability to maintain a great knowledge in human anatomy and cross-section anatomy, proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization of protocols and scanning techniques
  • High knowledge with variety of routine procedures and applications
  • Ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses required by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Protection, and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
