Thermal Engineer II Job Description

Relativity Space is seeking a highly skilled Thermal Engineer II to join our team. As a Thermal Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing and developing thermal systems for our launch vehicles. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that our thermal systems meet the required performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop thermal systems for launch vehicles, including insulation, heaters, and thermal protection systems.
  • Perform thermal analysis and modeling to ensure that our thermal systems meet the required performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our thermal systems are integrated into the overall vehicle design.
  • Develop and implement test plans to validate the performance of our thermal systems.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to ensure that our thermal systems are manufactured to the required specifications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in thermal engineering, with a focus on launch vehicle thermal systems.
  • Strong understanding of thermal analysis and modeling techniques, including finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with thermal system design and development, including insulation, heaters, and thermal protection systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
