Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Adjunct Medical Coding Instructor to join our team. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing student learning in a face-to-face, online, hybrid, or HyFlex learning environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Instruction and assessment of student learning: Facilitate student learning, deliver effective and career-relevant instruction, provide an environment conducive to learning, evaluate student learning for all assigned classes, respond to student inquiries, and grade assignments in a timely manner.
  • Adjunct faculty are encouraged to attend graduation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Current Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) certification
  • 3-5 years of effective online teaching experience in a health service management program and experience as a biller/coder
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines
  • Ability to function efficiently in a stressful work environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as dictated by the course schedule
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, as well as to move about the campus
  • Ability to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face-to-face, via the telephone, and through electronic mediums
