Job Summary:
The Humanities Division at Kentucky Community and Technical College System is seeking qualified candidates to teach Hybrid, Online, or on-campus sections of FYE 105 at multiple Jefferson Campuses.
Job Duties:
The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching courses, maintaining office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilizing a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback.
Please note that this is an adjunct pool, and we will only contact applicants as needed for classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's Degree is the preferred credential for teaching FYE, but the Implementation Team recognizes that there are those who may have a great deal of experience and knowledge in regards to the content of the FYE course.
Therefore, the following Bachelor's Plus credentials may also be approved:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Bachelor's Degree in any area plus experience teaching GEN 100 or GEN 102 or other FYE-type courses
- Bachelor's Degree in any area plus experience with college student success/student services processes, i.e., advising, student support services, counseling
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates who have experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction and with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement are encouraged to identify those experiences in the application materials.
Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.
This position requires the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment, which consists of frequent contact with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
