- Provide Direct Instruction: Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches to address diverse learning styles and academic needs of students in an elementary resource classroom setting.
- Integrate Social-Emotional Learning: Foster emotional well-being, self-advocacy skills, and positive peer relationships among students through the integration of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies into the classroom environment.
- Deliver Specialized Instruction: Provide specialized instruction and support services aligned with each student's IEP goals in a small group or one-on-one setting within the resource room.
- Monitor Student Progress: Analyze data and report on the effectiveness of instructional strategies to inform ongoing learning plans for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with School Staff: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Wyoming State Teaching License: Valid endorsement in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience Working with Students with Special Needs: Prior experience working with students with special needs in an elementary school setting is highly preferred.
- Strong Understanding of Child Development: A strong understanding of child development and learning theories as they apply to students with diverse learning needs in the elementary grades.
- Proven Ability to Develop IEPs: Proven ability to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal standards.
- Excellent Classroom Management: Excellent classroom management and instructional skills to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students with special needs in a resource room setting.
- Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff.
- Proficiency in Data Collection: Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress.
