The project site is situated along access routes, including various construction activities within a significant national monument.

Position Overview:

As a Quality Control Specialist for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), you will be tasked with overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction work performed by contractors on a vital project. Your role will involve monitoring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections to verify that construction activities meet contract requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the contractor's quality control systems.
  • Report any discrepancies or safety concerns to the appropriate project authorities.
  • Review and validate the accuracy of project documentation.
  • Collaborate with the contractor to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quality assurance reports promptly.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance or the ability to obtain it.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, with a preference for heavy civil projects.
  • Familiarity with safety and health regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in challenging environmental conditions.
  • Proficiency in report preparation and field quality assurance testing.

Preferred:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience with USACE processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create comprehensive reports.

Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • In-depth understanding of construction processes related to civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills to address project challenges.
