Job Overview:
Digital Prospectors is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in sustaining the technological framework, ensuring the effective operation of both academic and administrative systems. The IT Support Specialist will oversee and deliver extensive support for a variety of technologies, including computing devices, audiovisual systems, network access, and software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the installation and upkeep of technological equipment.
- Oversee the technology infrastructure encompassing Internet services, telecommunication, and digital displays.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance for audiovisual systems and classroom technologies.
- Manage the Husky ID Card machine and associated equipment.
- Record all activities in the enterprise ticketing system.
- Deliver Tier I and Tier II support to faculty and staff.
- Conduct training sessions on new and existing IT systems.
- Set up and maintain technology for faculty and staff.
- Image and reimage campus computers while applying updates.
- Build relationships with faculty and staff to promote technology utilization.
- Encourage global security awareness.
- Act as the primary contact for information security incidents.
- Provide insights on enhancements to information security.
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and standards.
- Implement and manage campus-specific software solutions.
- Administer Global IT managed enterprise systems.
- Ensure optimal utilization of best practices by end users.
- Manage vendor relationships for Global IT SaaS products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in enterprise-level IT support.
- Proficient in supporting connectivity, audiovisual systems, personal computers, OS X, and Windows environments.
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
- Preferred certifications in ITIL, Mac, and Microsoft products.
- Strong dedication to exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with service desk applications and incident management frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
- Knowledge of information security best practices, such as NIST, is preferred.
- Experience in supporting academic researchers is advantageous.
