We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Five Star Painting. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and guiding residential and light commercial painting jobs through the scheduling and execution stages. You will serve as the focal point for communication among the various involved parties, ensuring that our customers' needs and expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Ensure assigned projects are kept on schedule and within budget while meeting clients' needs and delivering a quality project.
- Scheduling and Planning: Plan, schedule, and coordinate painting projects from estimated to completed, generating schedules and plans of operation for painting projects in close consultation with homeowners, architects, contractors, remodelers, renovators, and other stakeholders.
- Subcontractor Management: Schedule and award subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders as needed, managing painting subcontractor crews and maintaining proper ratios of crews to estimators to maintain proper flow of work.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made, coordinating other trades such as drywall repair, carpentry, plaster & stucco repair, etc.
- Safety and Compliance: Lead safety meetings and document as necessary, ensuring proper document control and record keeping, and ensuring accuracy in estimates and job costing.
- Customer Communication: Communicate the scheduling preferences and needs of the customer to the Owner by making notes in CORE and/or scheduling the job through the Company Calendar.
- Project Close-Out: Guide project to completion to ensure proper close-out.
- Project Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years (5 years preferred) of successful project management experience desired, with demonstrated work history of safely executing projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in residential repainting, with additional experience in other project types such as medical office building, schools, office, public sector, and related facilities a plus but not required.
- Estimating and Budgeting: Experience in and ability to prepare conceptual estimates, project estimates, and assist in the preparation of proposals, with budget control and job cost forecasting experience and skills.
- Leadership and Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, Google Mail/Calendar/and Drive.
- Alignment with Company Culture: A background showing alignment to the company's culture and Code of Values.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Receptive to general direction, with the ability to set priorities and define methods for accomplishing assigned work.
- Team Player: Willing and able to follow systems, with the ability to accept and respond to suggestions and constructive criticisms in an amicable manner.
- Professionalism: Demeanor that is friendly and cooperative while maintaining adherence to Five Star Painting policies and procedures, with a proper appearance as required by Five Star Painting when interacting with customers or when representing the company.
