About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Project Inspector to join our Civil team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for observing construction on various transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documenting field and inspection activities, material sampling and testing, and measuring of quantities.
  • Preparing for and assisting with preconstruction meetings, progress, and conflict resolution meetings, negotiating and preparing construction change orders.
  • Interacting and communicating with clients, contractors, and other SEH personnel.
  • Assisting in the development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules, and completing constructability reviews.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong experience in the construction field, serving as a Construction Project Representative or related role.
  • Previous experience working on Indiana DOT projects.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and walk and climb over rough terrain associated with construction sites.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program.
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) or more years of experience as a Construction Project Representative on DOT, County, and/or Municipal construction projects involving earthwork, concrete, and bituminous paving, site improvements, and street/utility construction.
  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
  • Possession of applicable DOT Technical Certifications or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
