Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at RTX. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert within discipline with advanced to expert knowledge of work area
  • Oversee lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
  • Ensure Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces utilize a scalable ontology
  • Oversee and support the Integration of Solutions within their target environment
  • Coach, review, and delegate work of lower-level professionals
  • Contribute to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (Cost and Schedule)
  • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage moderately sized projects or processes
  • Manage the entrance and exit criteria of Design Reviews, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
  • Review, moderate and document major changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and often complex problems
  • Analyze and document system behaviors
  • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
Qualifications:
  • Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test automation, test execution, and test reporting
  • Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
  • Agile working environment experience
  • Test automation experience in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience in systems support to software application and hardware development
  • Experience in system or application integration
  • Experience in proposal support including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Experience in System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
  • Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
  • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
  • Experience in Scripting
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and our customers
