Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit

Cape Regional Health System is a comprehensive healthcare provider dedicated to serving the community with high-quality medical services.

As a pivotal part of our team, the Licensed Practical Nurse will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in our Medical/Surgical department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care tailored to the unique needs of patients across various age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Employ a holistic approach for the thorough assessment and ongoing evaluation of patients in accordance with unit protocols.
  • Foster a supportive and therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and significant others, particularly in high-pressure situations with competing priorities.
  • Recognize and prioritize patient needs, ensuring safety practices are in place for at-risk individuals, and communicate any abnormal clinical findings or changes in patient status to the supervising physician.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to isolation protocols.
  • Possess expertise in IV therapy, validated through an accredited certification program.
  • Understand the medications commonly administered within a Medical/Surgical and telemetry environment.
  • Apply knowledge in wound care management and relevant interventions.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing is preferred.
  • Current licensure with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
