Assisting with the preparation of medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
Conducting weekly counts of controlled substances and maintaining accurate records; ensuring proper disposal of all materials used in the preparation of both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IVs.
Supporting the cleaning and maintenance of the preparation area and pharmacy department, as well as participating in quality assurance activities as assigned.
Maintaining precise temperature logs, accurate records for all protocol and patient assistance medications, and ensuring proper documentation of medications, including lot numbers.
Calculating correct dosage volumes and converting between metric and apothecary measurements. Verifying the completeness of all orders, confirming patient information, and ensuring appropriate physician authorization.
Providing assistance with the inventory management of medications.
Qualifications: This position welcomes candidates with varying levels of experience.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
What You Bring to the Role:
PTCB Certification is preferred or should be obtained within the first year of employment. Experience in oncology is preferred. Experience in sterile compounding is also preferred. The safety of our patients and staff is our utmost priority. Masks may be requested in all facilities regardless of vaccination status. COVID vaccination is recommended.
