Vehicle Condition Assessor

As a Vehicle Condition Assessor at CarMax, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers have an exceptional car-buying experience. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough vehicle condition assessments, collecting and recording all necessary information to provide accurate appraisals for our buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate vehicle condition assessments, including cosmetic and mechanical inspections
- Collect and record all required information, including options and specific conditions
- Communicate effectively with buyers, senior buyers, and purchasing managers to ensure seamless transactions
- Perform quality and timely imaging of retail and wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites
- Complete vehicle secures, including verifying appraisal entry information for any discrepancies
- Assist the Merchandising Department with maintaining inventory and executing customer transfers
- Participate in the preparation and operation of the wholesale auction
- Collaborate with Inventory and Sales Departments to conduct lot merchandising, as needed
Requirements:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with other departments to create iconic customer experiences
- Ability to follow detailed, standardized processes to complete work
- Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records
- Multi-task in a high-energy, fast-paced work environment
- Speak and listen effectively when dealing with internal and external customers
- Function effectively within other departments in a team-oriented environment
Working Conditions:
- Requires walking, bending, kneeling, or standing for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors or in inclement weather environments for several hours
- Flexible work hours with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
