Behavioral Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team at Sovah Health - Danville. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, and performing various medical treatments. You will also be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and implement interventions to promote patient well-being.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate patient transfers, discharges, and referrals.
- Document patient care and communicate patient status to the care team, physician, and family members.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Evaluate patient learning needs and provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Prepare, administer, and assess the effectiveness of medications.
- Evaluate patient response to interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
