Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team at Sovah Health - Danville. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients with behavioral health needs, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform clinical treatments as needed.
- Conduct initial physiological needs assessments and shift psychosocial needs assessments to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care provided and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as needed.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate patient learning needs and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Prepare, administer, assess, and document the effectiveness of medication administration.
- Evaluate patient response to all procedures and interventions carried out on a physical and psychological basis.
- Assess patient's psychological response to hospitalization and diagnosis each shift.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
