Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to join our team at the City of Edinburg. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our city buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform general custodial functions, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows, light fixtures, and carpet.
  • Coordinate minor building repairs, scheduling, movement of office furniture and other items.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair work on custodial equipment.
  • Clean, dust, and disinfect areas such as restrooms, offices, and other facilities; use and apply cleaning chemicals as appropriate.
  • Clean office furniture, walls, windows, and floors; and empty trash.
  • Operate floor maintenance equipment, including buffers, strippers, vacuums, and extractors.
  • Inspect buildings and facilities for cleanliness, completed work, and needed repairs.
  • Maintain inventory records of building property, custodial and maintenance tools and equipment, and custodial materials and supplies.
  • Secure buildings after working hours or as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Valid class C driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. The majority of work is performed outside or with exposure to risk.

Mental Demands

This position requires the ability to use written and oral communication skills, read and interpret data, information and documents, use math and mathematical reasoning, perform detailed work, multiple deadlines and concurrent tasks, work with constant interruptions, and interact with staff and the public.
