Job Title: Traffic Engineer

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to contribute to our team's success. This role will involve performing traffic and transportation design, developing contract plans, and collaborating with design team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop traffic analysis, traffic signal sequencing, phasing, and timing, as well as traffic modeling and simulation.
  • Prepare engineering plans for traffic signals, intersection geometry, pavement markings, and signage, temporary traffic control, and construction staging plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Lead technical tasks on various traffic and transportation projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • 4+ years of related engineering experience in traffic and transportation projects.
  • Fundamentals in Engineering (FE / EIT) certification.
  • Demonstrated strong background in traffic and transportation engineering.
  • Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic (Vissim experience is advantageous).
  • Experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads.
  • Knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, and MASSDOT/NHDOT design policy guidelines and requirements.
  • Ability to collect field data and measurements, including roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets, and perform asset inspections.
  • Ability to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform field work in hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow).
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
