**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. You will work closely with our project engineers to develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications.

**Responsibilities**

* Develop and deliver high-quality design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications for substation projects* Assist in the execution of best-in-class projects, including coordination, quality control and oversight of designers, drafters and support staff* Collaborate with subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration) and Transmission & Distribution Engineering* Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards* Participate in project meetings and provide design input and recommendations* Develop and maintain design documentation and records* Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements**

* Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required* 5+ years of design engineering experience* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Strong organization and planning skills* Ability to work in a team environment* Commitment to quality and accuracy* Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules* Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principals and applicable codes and standards* Ability to obtain client-mandated drug and background checking* Occasional travel/driving required* Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future
