Foundations Educational Services is seeking an exceptional needs educator for an elementary self-contained emotional disturbance classroom.

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited institution An appropriate and current Arizona Teaching Certificate Valid Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance card.
Special Education Certification Job Type:
Full-time Pay: $65,000 - $72,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:
Instruct students in activities designed to foster learning concepts, acquire skills, and develop positive attitudes that contribute to their growth as capable, mature, and responsible individuals by performing the following duties:
Core Responsibilities:
Establish a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to effective instruction and learning Provide educational experiences aligned with approved curriculum and State and District standards Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each student Communicate learning objectives to students in a well-organized manner using clear and precise language Facilitate both small and large group instruction based on current research-based best practices Utilize available technology to enhance the learning experience Assess student progress Maintain accurate and complete records as required by State/Federal law and District policy Establish communication with guardians to discuss student progress Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low-performing or at-risk students Use site, District, and State assessment data to inform instruction and place students in appropriate educational or intervention programs Effectively implement Individual Education Plans Assume responsibility for supervising students on school property or during school-sponsored activities Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and conferences with guardians Engage in school and District initiatives Maintain professional competence through participation in District-provided professional development sessions and/or self-selected professional growth activities Perform other duties as assigned by the District or school site

Physical Requirements:
Teaching positions typically require:
stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Employees may be subject to travel, exposure to body fluids, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, variable temperatures, and intense noise.
Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
