Overview: The Assistant Manager is a key hourly position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a cinema and managing its staff, ensuring alignment with Regal's mission and policies.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Enforce and implement all cinema policies effectively.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise non-management personnel.
  • Perform various staff roles as needed.
  • Operate and maintain all projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol certification and training requirements where applicable.
  • Monitor safety protocols related to employee and patron welfare, loss prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Strive for guest satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
  • Manage financial transactions, including counting, depositing, and reconciling daily receipts.
  • Adhere to the established dress code.
  • Complete the management certification program.
  • Familiarize with and understand the Regal Operations Manual.
  • Participate in the hiring, scheduling, coaching, and disciplinary processes for staff, with guidance from senior management.
  • Control operational costs, including managing inventory and ordering supplies for daily functions.
  • Oversee maintenance of the cinema facility, addressing minor repairs and coordinating larger maintenance needs.
  • Assist in marketing and promoting film engagements, ensuring timely communication of showtimes.
  • Review training materials on workplace conduct and compliance.

Additional Responsibilities: As assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; at least three months of supervisory or cinema experience preferred.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol if applicable, and complete necessary training.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform calculations accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficient in identifying problems and proposing effective solutions.
  • Experience with PC platforms and basic office software.
  • Ability to interact positively with customers and team members.

Supervisory Role:

This position involves direct supervision of staff, including training, performance evaluation, and addressing employee concerns under the guidance of senior management.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting as necessary.
