  • Identifying department staff responsible for project design, alongside senior staff and the Engineer of Record as necessary.
  • Offering general project updates (status, tasks to complete, current completion percentage, etc.).
  • Identifying milestone dates for each discipline to provide necessary information at each phase to ensure effective design coordination.
  • Providing immediate advice and decisions, including technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordinating with all involved disciplines, including external consultants.
  • Creating a work schedule for the discipline that includes:
    • Project assignments and priorities
    • Delivery deadlines for group project commitments

  • The goal of the Assistant Discipline Manager is to eventually transition into a Discipline Manager role, leading their own department.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer, with a solid understanding of the construction process and familiarity with AIA construction contracts. Self-motivated individuals with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are preferred.

Experience in assisting with staff management and department oversight is essential. Candidates should be well-organized, capable of taking detailed notes, and possess a solid conceptual understanding of plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, including general knowledge of system operations, space requirements, and costs.
