Job Overview

Position: Buyer

Role Summary

The Buyer is responsible for managing product acquisitions and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services essential for operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with various departments including planning and sales to meet customer expectations aligned with TRIBUS's core values.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Planning Lead

Employment Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt (hourly)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders for necessary goods and services
  • Oversee inventory management of tooling supplies
  • Track and manage outside service jobs, ensuring effective communication throughout the process
  • Update production control documentation
  • Conduct supplier evaluations in compliance with ISO standards
  • Handle receipt of purchase orders not processed by shipping
  • Request necessary certification corrections
  • Manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate vendor pickups and deliveries
  • Serve as the primary contact for unsolicited inquiries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and ERP systems
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints is beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior
