Qualifications & Requirements:

Educational Background:
A Master's degree with completion of necessary coursework and supervised practice as mandated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to a specified date:

A Bachelor's degree with completion of necessary coursework and supervised practice as mandated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

Credentialing Requirements:


Must meet the eligibility criteria for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) as set by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and achieve registration within a specified timeframe after hiring.

In certain states and/or facilities, RD/RDN credentials may be required at the time of hiring.
