Deposit Operations Internship Opportunity

At Merchants Bancorp, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Deposit Operations team as an intern. As a Deposit Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the banking industry and develop valuable skills in financial operations, customer service, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the VP, Operations and AVP, Quality Control with tasks related to the Deposit Operations Department.
  • Daily reconcile internal accounts and ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct quality control of new deposit accounts and account maintenance.
  • Identify and prevent potential fraud and document incidents.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in departmental projects, such as procedure writing, tracking tool development, and fraud department enhancement.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world projects and implement solutions or recommendations.
  • Collaborate with a manager and mentor to guide your work and provide feedback.
  • Deliver a final presentation of your project results and make business recommendations to department members and company leadership.
  • Work on-site in one of our offices for an average of 35-40 hours per week.

Requirements:
  • Completed at least your sophomore year of college (graduates welcome to apply).
  • All degree programs considered.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.
  • Exhibit core disciplines: Teamwork, Communication, Critical Thinking, Integrity, Self-Discipline, and Adaptability.
