Job Summary:

Knife River Northwest is seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to project managers and ensuring the smooth execution of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers in preparing bid documents and submitting bids per outlined guidelines.
  • Provide administrative management of awarded contracts, including quantity tracking, material procurement, equipment utilization, and labor tracking.
  • Coordinate with construction managers and field leadership to establish project objectives, procedures, schedules, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of quantities and value of work estimated/completed to support forecasting for future project performance.
  • Provide ongoing support to construction/operations for efficient and profitable execution of work, including scheduling, procurement, and change order/supplemental work processes.
  • Monitor/manage subcontractor's work.
  • Partner with contract administrator to review and process financial aspects of contracts.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve situations/problems, including material quality, equipment operations, and material quantity discrepancies.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with coworkers and managers/supervisors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with agencies and community leaders.
  • Help project managers with material takeoffs for bids.
  • Ensure that work in progress conforms to specifications, is of high quality, and adheres to schedules.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, pre-bid meetings, and visit project sites to determine scope of work required in preparing bid/estimate proposal.
  • Help project managers determine labor, equipment, and material requirements to complete projects and use information to prepare bid/estimate proposal.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • College degree in CEM or related field required.
  • Strong computer skills required, including fluency in Microsoft Office and experience with HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, Bluebeam, and Agtek.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have good math skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Basic survey skills and the ability to read plans and specifications.
  • The ability to work well with others as a team and handle pressure and stressful situations positively.
  • Must have a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and safety.
