Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.

Position Overview: The Advanced Respiratory Care Specialist (RCP II) is highly skilled in the administration and management of respiratory therapies. Demonstrates expertise in respiratory evaluations and interventions for diverse patient demographics. Engages as a healthcare professional delivering respiratory care in both acute and critical care environments. Exhibits analytical thinking and proficiency in clinical competencies as outlined in the RCP II criteria. Mentors students during their clinical rotations. Displays leadership capabilities and can serve as the lead therapist when necessary. Under the guidance of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides expert respiratory care to patients in alignment with the institution's policies and protocols. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required, with the ability to demonstrate RCP II proficiency within 6 months of hire or transfer into the role. Preferred candidates will have 3+ years of experience in a hospital environment delivering respiratory care.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong critical thinking abilities are essential.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

A valid State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is mandatory. For individuals in this role prior to specified changes, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Additionally, the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is required within 6 months of hire (for specific roles). Advanced specialty credentials from the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) are preferred.
