Respiratory Therapist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and blood gases. Identify and address the special needs of patients, including those with respiratory conditions.
- Equipment Operation: Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues, ensuring proper functionality and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
- Medication Administration: Administer medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols.
- Education and Training: Educate and instruct patients on respiratory therapy techniques, self-care, and disease management.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients and promote a culture of safety by recognizing and applying proper safety measures to prevent patient harm.
- Licensure and Certification: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice, and Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree.
