This role involves the installation and certification of fire safety systems and related devices in compliance with local and national regulations.
As an installer, you will engage in various installation tasks, including setup, testing, troubleshooting, and necessary repairs on sprinkler and life safety systems and their components.
Compensation: $35/HR StartingKey Responsibilities:
- Arrive punctually, as timely attendance is essential for conducting functionality tests before building occupancy.
- Analyze blueprints and schematics to identify system placements.
- Confirm that materials and equipment align with the project scope.
- Execute installations in accordance with national sprinkler and life safety standards.
- Communicate with building engineers and site contacts upon arrival and at the end of the workday to update them on progress.
- Provide documentation in line with NFPA standards upon project completion, including sign-off after successful testing and certification.
- Maintain precise records of work completed.
- If provided with a company vehicle, keep an accurate inventory of truck stock, ensure regular maintenance, and report any vehicle issues immediately.
- Submit weekly/daily job status updates for managerial review.
- Care for assigned tools and equipment, reporting any defects promptly.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the sprinkler industry is required.
- NICET certification should be pursued and obtained within the first year of employment, with ongoing maintenance of certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.
- A clean driving record and reliable transportation are necessary.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required, with potential evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles, practices, codes, and regulations pertinent to the role.
- Exhibit the ability to review official documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and report discrepancies through inspection processes.
- Interpret and apply relevant laws, codes, and regulations effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
- Utilize or repair small/light equipment, including power tools and ladders.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling and manipulating objects. It may also involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving heavy items.
Essential physical abilities include balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
