At Impact Fire Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Designer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and drafting fire alarm systems for a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting technology with AutoCAD or Revit and a strong understanding of fire alarm system installation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing battery calculations based on NFPA standards
  • Reviewing job plans and specifications to determine scope of design
  • Designing NFPA compliant drawings within allocated hours for each job
  • Preparing job close-out documents such as as-builts, O&M's and warranties
  • Submitting design plans to department leadership for approval and obtaining permits as required

Requirements:

  • Experience in fire alarm design preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems, including new systems, remodels, pre-action systems, elevator recall, VESDA, and special hazards
  • NICET 3 Design certification is a plus
  • Strong technology and computer skills
