Solar Project Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven solar project engineer to oversee the development of solar projects. The solar project engineer will be responsible for working closely with engineers to ensure their plans sets are on budget and within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop site maps and line diagrams to explain solar pv systems to customers.
  • Coordinate with engineering firms for quotes, read and develop contracts, and ensure they meet contract requirements.
  • Review project specifications to ensure all products meet spec.
  • Create submittal packages for Plan and spec projects or RFP's.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain Interconnection agreements and NSD requirements plans and specs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project activities.
  • Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all project activities meet industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in solar.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft office, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems.

Compensation

$50,000 - $90,000 yearly salary
