Solar Project Engineer

Solar Project Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven solar project engineer to oversee plans sets and coordinate work to ensure they stay on budget and within project timelines. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, how solar works, AutoCAD skills, excellent communications, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the development team to create site maps and line diagrams to explain to customers how solar PV systems work.
- Reach out to engineering firms for quotes, read and develop contracts, and ensure they meet contract requirements.
- Review project specifications to ensure all products procured meet spec.
- Create submittal packages that meet plan and spec projects or for RFPs.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets with contracted engineering firms.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.
- Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain interconnection agreements and NSD requirements plans and specs to submit to Utilities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.
- Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status for engineering and interconnections.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Regularly update project managers on challenges and changes in scope.
- Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solar.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Compensation Details
$50,000 - $90,000 Yearly Salary
