Role Summary: The Healthcare Support Specialist is responsible for executing nursing tasks that involve direct patient assistance and related duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, serene, and comfortable atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff. The specialist is expected to uphold accountability for their responsibilities and provide high-quality care to patients of diverse age groups as directed by the Unit Manager or their designee.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers must be obtained within three months of hire and renewed annually.
Experience: Prior experience in roles such as nurse aide, phlebotomist, or EKG technician is preferred.
Work Environment: This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 37.50 hours per week, including day shifts and alternating weekends.
Department: Nursing Float Pool
Employment Type: Non-exempt
Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience.
