Job Title: Deputy Director of Early Childhood Programming

Join the Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center team as a Deputy Director of Early Childhood Programming, where you will play a critical role in shaping the educational journey of young children.

Job Summary:

The Deputy Director of Early Childhood Programming will oversee the strategic direction of our early childhood programs, ensuring that all children transition out of our programs Kindergarten-ready. This role will lead efforts to prepare children and families for educational success, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across our program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Oversight: Provide leadership and supervision to Education Site Managers, Assistant Education Site Managers, and Coaches, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Oversee and direct curriculum implementation, policies, and procedures across the 2-5 continuum, ensuring all children receive high-quality educational experiences.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement: Support the Education Coach in promoting high-quality teaching and learning, and develop and implement improvement plans based on evaluation findings.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Implement and oversee the child assessment system, monitor educational progress, and provide comprehensive data analysis and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Communication and Partnerships: Build relationships with community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders to support program goals and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field.
  • At least five years of upper management experience, with experience in evaluation, early childhood instructional practices, and staff development.
  • New York State Professional License ECE Birth to 5 Certification.
  • Current Pre-K, Infant and Toddler CLASS Reliability.
  • At least three years of experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
Competencies:
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in data management systems and Excel.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills (ability to meet deadlines).
