Position Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, working closely with various professionals to deliver high-quality imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Services: Provide exceptional imaging services while collaborating with the Radiologist to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Image Processing: Responsible for the accurate processing and transmission of images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess a current State Nuclear Medicine License issued by the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Certification: A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B. Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of acute clinical radiology experience is required, along with at least one year as a nuclear medicine technologist.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating both mobile and stationary Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Knowledge Base: Extensive understanding of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
  • Education: Graduate from a program accredited by JRCNMT or CAMRT.
  • Basic Life Support: Current BCLS (AHA) certification is required.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills are necessary for effective performance.
Additional Requirements
  • Completion of Form I-9 for Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Provision of a valid Picture ID.
  • Certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP may be required based on departmental needs.
  • Proof of current licensure and primary source verification.
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN) and Fire Card (specific to certain facilities) may be necessary.
  • Completion of a Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Color Blind Testing within one year of employment.
  • Certificates for CA Harassment Prevention Training and Behavioral Prevention with CDC are required.
  • Photo for identification badge is mandatory for all personnel.
  • Review and sign the EMTALA Manual & Acknowledgement prior to commencement.
