Job Title: Project Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Accountant to join our team at Jobot. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial management and monitoring of multiple engineering projects, ensuring their financial health and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor the financial performance of multiple engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting, ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue and costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information, and supporting them in their decision-making process.
  • Identify and analyze variances between actuals and budget/forecast, and provide insightful commentary on the causes and potential implications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of project accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness gains.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proven experience with Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, and their application in a project-based environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
