SoC DRAM Memory Subsystem Validation Engineering Program Manager

As a pivotal member of the team that develops Apple's renowned M3/M4 SoCs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the memory subsystem's readiness for our custom silicon solutions. This position involves overseeing the validation and debugging processes essential for the groundbreaking memory subsystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-impact engineering team focused on resolving technical challenges to facilitate timely silicon delivery aligned with ambitious product timelines.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans for memory feature implementation and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on support and validation strategies.
  • Collaborate with various teams including Design, Verification, Silicon Validation, Productization, and System Hardware and Software to address memory-related silicon challenges.
  • Oversee debugging efforts in post-silicon environments, identify root causes of issues, and guide the team towards effective corrective actions.
  • Manage issue reporting, bug tracking, and the organization of program risks and status updates for executive-level review.
  • Plan and lead the integration of DRAM technologies, including custom package development and qualification processes, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the DRAM Global Supply Management, DRAM & Package Engineering, and SoC Program Management teams to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with DRAM vendors regarding new technology developments, ensuring that issues and action items are tracked and addressed promptly.
  • Coordinate with DRAM GSM and silicon material management teams to manage the distribution of new DRAM materials across all development systems.
  • Foster collaboration between Design for Test (DFT), Product/Test/QA engineering, SiVal, and Systems teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) to finalize SoC performance metrics and screening requirements.
  • Implement internal program processes to ensure high-quality silicon execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in SoC DRAM Memory Design, Validation, Architecture, or Test/Product Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of high-performance memory subsystems, including SoC memory architecture, advanced DDR controllers, PHY design, and high-speed I/O interfaces.
  • Experience in shipping high-volume DRAMs or SoCs.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary engineering environment, adept at multitasking and managing real-time crises.
  • Exceptional debugging skills with a track record of resolving critical issues under pressure.
  • Strong capability to comprehend complex technical discussions and derive actionable plans.
  • Passionate about leading project development using well-defined metrics.
  • Ability to succinctly summarize intricate details for executive reporting.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities with a focus on fostering team collaboration and a commitment to the broader vision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with major DRAM memory vendors and validating DRAM devices is advantageous.
